MODALITIES

DEEP TISSUE

Deep tissue massage is a firmer, more specific treatment,  progressively deeper pressure is slowly applied with elbows, knuckles, forearms and fingers which help soften and release your bodies ongoing tension and pain. Best for getting out the knots and addressing pain issues.  A good deep tissue massage will do wonders for your specific muscular ailments and when combined with specific treatment plan is ultimately intended to help treat soft-tissue dysfunctions, structural misalignments and provides itself as an excellent pain management tool.  Deep tissue includes Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy and stretching as needed.

THAI MASSAGE

Thai massage, a form of asian bodywork created about 2,500 years ago combines rhythmic, deep-tissue compression; passive, active and resistance full body stretches, palming and thumbing of your bodies major acupressure or sen lines and applying many deep tissue techniques with yoga. This is a fully clothed session.  No medium is used working head-to-toe then toe-to-head, leaving you refreshed, awake and alive.

ABOUT ME...

Originally from Columbus Ohio I proudly call Phoenix Arizona my home.  I’m licensed by the State Medical Board of Ohio and the Arizona Massage Therapy board as a Licensed Massage Therapist.  I worked in advertising for a business newspaper for 7 years.  The last two years of sitting at a desk.  I decided I wanted a new career and I was on the path to massage and yoga so I began studying at The American Institute of Alternative Medicine in 2004.  I had always had an interest in well being, health; and really any alternative medicine/therapies.

I did’t know it but in elementary school we did yoga everyday after school.  I loved it then and I credit my addiction to stretching, wellness and exercise to this women.  Thank you Ms Humphrey!  The poses we did after school stayed with me until the day I made the yoga connection in middle school.   I regularly checked out yoga books at the library. I feared SanSkrit.  I had regularly maintained a yoga practice but for some reason had fear of teaching.  It was the sanskrit.  It wasn’t until about two years ago.   I nudged further and further toward yoga teacher training and completed the program in March of 2010.  The 200 hr. Anusara, BKS Iyengar influenced Yoga Teacher Training I received at The Southwest Institute of Healing Arts under the guidance of Christy Burnette was one of the best decisions of my life.  I feel like a more complete human after the exceptional training I received.   Life is our teacher and I love teaching others way to improve their lives.  I love seeing the positive impact you can bring to someones life.    In addition to massage and yoga I love the outdoors, nature, acroyoga, hiking, biking and traveling.

TESTIMONIALS

“When I was referred to Lisa, and her amazing body work abilities, I had been searching and dissatisfied for over a year! I needed to find someone who understands the body and knows how to get in and release without leaving me wiped out and sore!  I am an athlete and have had all sorts of massage and therapy over the years. Lisa is the very best I have been fortunate enough to find!

Lisa's gift with the human body continues! When she told me she was going through yoga training I knew it was a great fit. I am so proud of what Lisa has accomplished. I have been lucky enough to take her class for the last few months and am thrilled. Lisa is a great teacher. She puts her passion, knowledge, caring and abilities into every minute of the class. “

“As a "senior" woman (age 62), I have experienced some fairly serious back and neck injuries over the years.  I have sought relief with massage and have tried numerous therapists over many years.  Luckily, a friend at work highly recommended Lisa to me.  I was hooked!  Lisa has given me deep tissue massage ever since.  She makes my life so much easier to live.  She is always professional and respectful.  Best of all - she has magic fingers!  They always know right where to go to make it better.  I think everyone should be lucky enough to be massaged by Lisa at least once in their life.”

-Linda

“Lisa’s extensive body knowledge combined with her holistic lifestyle makes her the most therapeutic, “in touch” massage therapist that I’ve ever been to.”

-Lucy

“Lisa is by far the best massage therapist I’ve ever had.  Not only does she know the names of every muscle, tendon, etc. in the human body, but she has an intuitive sense about what parts need attention and care.  I am pretty athletic and my time with Lisa not only enhances my performance in my various events, but also refreshes my mind and my body!  She is the definition of AWESOME!!!  Thank you Lisa for taking such good care of me!” “And, Lisa is now teaching Yoga and I find time spent on the mat with her leading the group to be enjoyable, challenging, invigorating, and restful - all at the same time!!  She just knows how to engage people!!”

-Margene

"I am a pro touring drummer and needless to say my whole body gets a work out, not to mention the strain of traveling.  Lisa gives the best massage I have ever had.  She works your muscles thoroughly, slowly and precisely.  I have had many massages and Lisa is by far the best.  Some massage therapists have it, and some don't.  In short Lisa has got it going on big time.”
